The Price of Basil

Do you see that very large bouquet of fresh basil that is almost covering my daughter's body and face? Guess how much I paid for it at the grocery store here in Brazil? Wrong. I paid exactly US$ 0.77. Things like this irritate me profusely. It drives me crazy that I have to pay US$ 3 for each tiny little pack of herbs in Minnesota.  I probably spend over $600 dollars per year on herbs!!


Enough complaint. I also wanted you to see how little the basil leaves are here just for the sake of comparison. But they have very intense aroma and flavor.
